MARLON67 AND GOING INTO 2023

I’m always amazed at how fast a year can go by. 365 days can really fly by if you blink too long, but it’s a good thing I’ve kept my eyes wide open throughout 2022. It’s been an incredible year, filled with lessons, results and new perspectives. I’m waiting for 2023 with bated breath, but let’s look at how 2022 came and went, through my gorgeous eyes…

My resolutions were set as soon as the clock struck 00:00 on 01/01/2022. 2021 was dedicated to building the brand and understanding it as well. Once this was done, the next step was to communicate the brand better. My number 1 goal was to grow my brand and create more brand awareness.

My 2022 was setting the stage for expanding outside of our borders and organising international collaborations. I began manifesting about meeting international adult star Rhyheim Shabazz and creating something for both South Africa and Brazil to enjoy. While thinking of ways to make this happen, I concluded that I needed to find myself in Los Angeles, where he resides. Keeping in mind that plane trips aren’t free, I had to find ways to get there. Little did I know, however, that the universe was already working its magic and conspiring in my favour. While trying to find ways to the City of Angels, Rhyheim reached out to me and expressed interest in collaborating. This is easily one of my major achievements of my adult career.  Long story short, I was in Sao Paulo saying ‘ola’ to every beautiful person I saw!

The blessings don’t stop there though. Collaborating with Rhyheim was a huge moment for me, but that was just one of the ways Marlon67 made waves and moves. This year impacted me substantially because my brand also became mainstream, being present on national TV, radio and other forms of media. Personally, I had to also work on a lot of internal challenges that, when overcome, helped me be the most powerful version of myself (currently!). Mental and spiritual work is always needed, but in them being continuous processes, I’m confident in saying that I dealt with the ones I had to focus on at this point.

An important factor to also mention is how much the support from those who love me has meant to me during this journey. Thank you for being with me and trusting me to do my part to spread knowledge and awareness of my misunderstood craft. I will continue to work hard to elevate my brand and grow in all areas of my being. I am eternally grateful to those who have offered me words of affirmation when I desperately needed them.

As we close off this rollercoaster of a ride we call 2022 and prepare ourselves to head into the uncharted waters of 2023, I would love to affirm that next year is all about creating wealth and being in my bag. All the seeds have been planted and darling I’m ready to harvest them. It will be crucial to learn how to work smarter for my bread. But while I do that, you can look forward to more international entertainment AND acting/performing gigs, and of course more amazing content with exploring African narratives at the centre of them.
