Pop Inn Project Co-ordinator
Happy Phaleng Human Rights and LGBTIQ Activist currently working as a Project coordinator at Aurum Pop inn and he is responsible for social media, demand creation and stakeholder liaison in the Key Population programme based in Johannesburg.
Happy has previously worked on various community-based programs including OUT LGBT WELLBEING where he was a programme coordinator responsible for Programme planning and implementation and daily programetic operations.
Happy was initially trained at Love life Trust as a community youth champion formerly known as a Ground and his responsibility included driving about and bringing about positive change among young people in his community.
Phaleng has always had best interests at heart for community programs and in 2015 he joined Latitude Global a UK based programme as a SA team lead for the 2015 cohort and he was based in a community volunteer programme in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and He was responsible for a creating substance abuse and positive living in GQebera . He is LEAD SA HERO in 2016 and was nominated and selected as a hero for standing for LGBTIQ+ RIGHTS IN HIS COMMUNITY through social safe space interventions.
Happy is very passionate about rural community development and information dissemination and currently using his photography skills to share information and create awareness.
