WHAT DOES UNITED WITH PURPOSE MEAN TO YOU

“United with purpose means to me that life presents us with a number of choices, but each one is given a purpose in life. Through social unity, partnership and brainstorming our inherent and individual purpose, our common goals as societies can be achieved when we take hands and unite as one for the greater good of all, despite our cultural and religious disparities, ethnic backgrounds and racial diversity. As our great Madiba said “It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it”. Unity is strength and therefore uniting with purpose is about educating, encouraging and empowering each other.

WHAT DOES UNITED WITH PURPOSE MEAN TO YOU

“United with Purpose, for me coming from a background of professional sports, I know the true meaning of coming together and working as a team. United with Purpose is a group of people, organisations and even a nation or nations coming together and working together to help cure or stop something like Poverty, People dying of Hunger, Corruption or even a pandemic where we unite together as one. We have a goal that we want to achieve but we can only achieve it if we work together as a team. That is what Unite with a Purpose means to me.”

HOW DO YOU FEEL TO HAVE MADE THE TOP 15

Being selected for the top 15 of Mr World SA, was a big shock, not going to lie, I wasn’t nervous at first but as the message was delayed nerves kicked in. Because what an Honour to be part of something this big and I am truly grateful for this opportunity. But for me personally coming from a small town and someone with big dreams, I always told myself never forget where you’re roots lie. Because no matter who you are, you are still human and it does not make you better than the person next to you, so for me this means I am one step closer to practice what I preach that Fame is only a word but carries no meaning.

Especially during this difficult time, we are currently experiencing with this global pandemic, uniting is even more powerful than ever. Each South African citizen, no matter your race, religion, sexuality, beliefs etc. has the need to feel known, accepted and valued. The only way we can possibly achieve unity is when we take each other into consideration. Placing yourself in your neighbour’s shoes. Spreading as much love, kindness and hope that we possibly can. Only by doing so can we grow stronger towards a common purpose.
